Bug TRACK DAZE! feb 22, mar 1, mar 8
>>>> EDIT >>>>
I'm turning this into an event, details below. You need to register and pay before January 30, 2009.
>>>>>>>>>>>>

Shatin Velodrome
Course Time: 9am - 11am
Date: February 22, March 1, March 8
Cost: 80$ HKD

Transfer $80 to there HSBC account then fax the application form and receipt of transfer to apply.
Form: http://www.cycling.org.hk/Form_download/...20Form.pdf
Fax: 2834 3715
HSBC account: 809504301292 (mark ur name on the receipt)
Phone: 2504 8176, phone for details.

I want to get as many of you pros on the track as possible. HKCA offers courses, which you'll have to sign up as a member first. Hopefully when we get some recognition from the group, I'd like to set up regular drop-in track days, which is pretty common with most velodromes. let's get a group together and shred it up.

Take a read.

Do you turn up with your own bike or use theirs? Is there restrictions? No brakes? Only smooth track specific frames? Or just ride whatever?

they provide old good bike such as bob jackson, colongo etc....

they restrict track specific frames for safety reason, since my bike is 20" wheel and installed a brake, so I can't use mine...

RE: TRACK DAZE!
So anyone want to sign up together with me? I'm thinking SOON.

Oh, and is this taught in english or chinese, cause all the forms are done in that chinese language.

RE: TRACK DAZE!
Vee_dub translated via msn for me. It's a pretty basic form. I believe if anyone wants to do it you'll need to join hkcycling. I'm good to do this but can't make any of the baisc courses before christmas, so i'm going to see if they'll let me jump into the intermediate course.

Here's the form links: HK Cycling Association Membership Form (english)

I've used vee_dubs info here to create a more english friendly version of the track course Click Here

RE: TRACK DAZE!
Actually, U don't need to be a member of HKCA. U can join the course by just filling the form and fax it back with payment receipt. (pls see my previous reply)

The course use chinese, but they tell u some really basic info. only. Then u can ride it urself even in the first lesson :>

RE: TRACK DAZE!
Does anyone who knows they can stay above the BLUE for over 3 laps want to see if we can do the intermediate course on December 6th & 7th?

I'm going to give them a call or pop over to the track and enquire about skipping the basic level. Although, if they want to do it by the book and make us do the Basic first, i'll have to wait until Jan 6th. As i'm busy for all the Nov dates.

RE: TRACK DAZE!
Track riding is quite simple,
a- look where you going (i.e. round the next bend, sounds stupid but loads of people look down over their front wheel)
b- don't swerve, you'll take everyone out, great for videos, not great if you're in the pack.
c- don't overlap the wheel in front, you'll take everyone out, again!

ps. i'm still waiting for a reply from the cycling association.
